Everybody loves money, wants it, needs it and depends upon it. But lots of us don’t really understand the basics of money. What is money and where does it really come from? Why do banks have so much money, while countries and individuals have so much debt?
We’re screening Money as Debt for the last in our Film into Action season. This short film uncovers myths and facts regarding money’s history. It covers the background to the banking system, the problems caused by our debt-based money system, and it looks at some sustainable alternatives.
We’ve invited a small group of guests with expertise in finance and experience of alternative trading schemes and of supporting individuals in debt, who are willing to answer questions about money. Guests include Fraser Durham of Anahat Energy , who spent ten years in banking advising global investment funds, and Robin Currie of Barchester Green Investment.
Please join us at TAAG’s Arts & Community Centre, Northumberland Place on Friday 10th June, starting at 7.30pm. Entry is free; donations welcome. Refreshments will be available for a small charge. For further details call Mike on 07877 797271.
