Join us to celebrate what we’ve achieved over our first two years, hear about what we’re doing now, and help to form plans for the Group’s future. The evening will include the chance to watch a short animated environmental film “Carbon Weevils”, along with discussion, live music by a folk trio, punch and snacks. The evening will also include a brief AGM.

July 2011: Energyshare bid – success with first round!
Thank you very much for supporting Teign Estuary Transition’s bid for funding. I’m delighted to say that this week I heard we’ve got through the first round. We came 45th out of 936 groups nationally. This success is due entirely to the support our project has received from you.
We’re now waiting for Energyshare to request a detailed application for our plans to make lighting-efficiencies in selected local community centres.

Energyshare bid: June 30th – end of round one
By midnight on 30th June our bid had 167 supporters, ranking us 45th in 936 groups. Energyshare will announce in mid-July which groups they are selecting to go forward into the next round and I’ll post an update here. Thank you for everyone’s support of this bid for funds to make energy efficiencies in public sites across our area.
Energyshare update: final countdown to June 30th
Our funding bid to upgrade lighting in public buildings across Teignmouth and Shaldon is currently ranked 37th out of 893 groups. It’s exciting to be doing so well, but only bids with the most supporters on 30th June will go through to the next round so we urgently need more supporters before Thursday.
While there’s still time, please support our bid with your online vote if you haven’t yet done so, and please invite at least one other person to vote for us.
Details of how to vote are here: https://teigntransition.org.uk/energy/energyshare/
Voting is a quick two-stage process – you register your name (or nickname), email address and postcode, then you’ll get an email from Energyshare with a link that you need to click to complete the process. Energyshare won’t accept any other statement of support – it has to be via their online voting system. If you get stuck, please let us know so we can help.
Energyshare bid: please support!
The final extended deadline for getting support for our Energyshare bid is 30th June. Energyshare will select groups to go forward from those with the most supporters.
If we’re successful our bid will benefit Alice Cross Centre, Meadow Centre, TAAG Centre, Victoria Hall and Shaldon Methodist Church. Electrician David Onslow, of Shaldon, has assessed these and other sites for us: these five sites offer the potential to make up to 40% savings in electricity-use is some areas.
We now have nearly 50 supporters. There are over 30 groups with more bids than us, so we still have a lot of work to do in the next few days. Please do everything you can to enlist supporters – these could include your friends, relatives and colleagues. If you know people who use Facebook or Twitter, please ask them to help.
