The Great Summer Clothes Swap – Saturday 8th June

Change the clothes you no longer wear for a new look

Saturday 8th June at TAAG, Northumberland Place, Teignmouth

Admission £1.50 + at least 1 item of clothing to swap

  • Each item gives you a free swap!
  • Extra items can be purchased for only £1 each
  • All clothes welcome – must be clean and in good condition
  • No shoes, socks, or underwear

9.30 – 11 am: bring clothes to swap and get your ticket

11.30 am: the Swap begins!

Upcycled Art Exhibition: 7th – 20th November 2012

Rowcroft Hospice Charity Shop, Totnes

Opening hours 9am – 4.30pm

In association with Totnes Transition and Rowcroft, local artists have created many works of art using a variety of media. Come and join them to be inspired about upcycling – the process of converting waste or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.

Swap clothes you no longer wear for a new look

Welcome to fun fashion that’s ethical and sustainable. Save money and save the planet while enjoying meeting up with friends.

9.30 – 11 am:  bring clothes to swap and buy your ticket
11.30 am: the Swap begins!

Admission: £1.50 and at least one item of clothing to swap

Organisers Mary Lidgate and Florence Briot explain: each person brings nice, clean clothes that are no longer wanted, and somebody else chooses them and gives them a good home. You could bring a jumper and collect a dress, or hang a coat on the rail and take away a pair of jeans.

Each item you bring is a free swap; extra items can be purchased for £1

Bring women’s, men’s, children’s and maternity clothes – clothes must be clean and in good condition; please no shoes, socks or underwear

Clothes Swap Day at the Carlton

For the Clothes Swap Day on Saturday 13th October, we would like to offer free demonstrations throughout the day on sewing, knitting, jewellery making/repairing, transforming/updating clothes, embroidery, felt making, spinning wool, etc., etc.

Clothes Swap Day at Carlton Theatre: Saturday 13th October

TET is organising a Clothes Swap Day at the Carlton Theatre on Saturday 13th October.

Aimed at promoting sustainable fashion whilst  having fun swapping clothes and accessories.
Everyone welcome – Admission £2.50 – All sizes of men’s, women’s and children’s clothes – Clean, good quality (no footwear or underwear).

We will need a large amount of hangers. Have you got spare ones to share/give us? Do you know where we can get more?

Cakes, teas and coffee  plus soups and rolls will be sold on site. Bakers and soup makers will be needed too.

Re-use plastic bottle tops

Got this one via an email and thought it was worth sharing!

How to seal a bag and make it air-tight

Cut up a disposable water bottle and keep the neck and top, as in photo.
Insert the plastic bag through the neck and screw the top to seal.
